EICR for Landlords and Home Movers
Benefits
From 1st April 2021 Government regulations require all tenanted property to have an Electrical Installation Condition Report or EICR. The checks involved in an EICR ensure that all electrical installations in the property, such as light fixtures and electrical sockets are safe before the tenant moves in. If your property does not pass the EICR you have 28 days to rectify the problems and if you do not do this you do risk a fine which is £5000 for first offenders and up to £30,000 for anyone who offends more than once. You are required to provide the EICR to the tenant within 28 days of carrying out the EICR and if the tenant requests the EICR in writing you must supply it within 28 days.
